When wisdom teeth cause problems
Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are the last teeth to come in, and there is often not enough room for them. They can come in crooked, stay stuck in the jaw, trap food and bacteria, or push on neighboring teeth.
Removed here, not referred out
At Creekside Dental Care, Dr. Bal routinely removes problematic upper and lower wisdom teeth and does not typically refer this procedure out. Your teeth are checked first with X-rays or a 3D CBCT scan, so the plan accounts for tooth position and nearby nerves.
Comfortable from start to finish
Local anesthesia keeps the area numb, and oral conscious sedation is available for a calmer experience.
Recovery
- Pain and swelling peak around 2 to 3 days after surgery
- Medicine is prescribed to reduce infection and discomfort
- Stick to soft, cool foods and avoid straws for the first few days
- Text us a photo if anything worries you
