Tooth Extractions in Citrus Heights, CA

When a tooth cannot be saved, Dr. Bal removes it as gently as possible and, if you plan to replace it, can preserve or rebuild the bone with grafting so an implant can follow.

When a tooth has to come out

Teeth are removed when they are broken below the gum line, badly decayed, loose from gum disease or causing crowding. (For third molars, see wisdom teeth removal.) Dr. Bal always looks at whether the tooth can be saved first, and explains the options for replacing it before it is removed.

Protecting your future implant

Bone needs a tooth or implant to stay healthy. Without one it slowly shrinks, and that can make an implant harder later. Creekside Dental Care offers socket preservation grafts, bone augmentation, sinus lifts and jaw expansion, so patients who want an implant have the foundation for one.

Aftercare in brief

  • Bite on gauze for 30 to 45 minutes
  • No straws, smoking or spitting for 48 hours
  • Soft foods and gentle rinsing after the first day
  • Text us a photo if anything worries you
